The first step to delivering a wayfinding system is the development a signage strategy. A wayfinding strategy looks at a range of issues which impact wayfinding such as walkability, traffic, legibility of the built environment, proximity of destinations, public transport and existing signage... A strategy details 'what' is necessary and 'where' that should be located and allows a project to be quantified and estimated prior to commencement of detailed design.
